Nigeria is a said to have an estimated number of around 500 Languages. Some have gone extinct. The one that are remaining are given in this post. Nigeria is a multi-ethnic society with people from various backgrounds, believe, cultures with different languages spoken. This post focuses on the different languages spoken by the Nigerian populace at large.

We all know the Lingua Franca of Nigeria is the English Language, which kind of unifies the whole of the Nigerian people.

Nigeria also has the popular pidgin Language also, which is a colloquial form of the unrefined English UK Language.

The 3 most popular indigenous Languages in Nigeria are, Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba referred to as WaZoBia. Which means to come in Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo respectively.
