Nigeria as a country got independence in the year 1960. After which the expansion of Nigeria as a Federation consisting of 36 States inside it and capitals followed after.
The duty of the Nigeria Police is to enforce law and order in the State. To ensure all citizens of Nigeria do not break the Nigerian law. The Nigerian Police are deployed to all States of the country. Each State has a Commissioner (CP). The Commissioner of Police is the one that controls the policing of that State. Whilst the Inspector General (IG) of Police is the overall Federation Head of the Police and Police are subjects to the IG.
